Orienteering is a great skills learning experience for adults and children. It’s an exciting outdoor adventure sport that combines mental and physical ability, as well as map reading and direction finding skills, to enable a participant to navigate routes between isolated control points using just a compass and a map. Taking place in the forest participants (orienteers) have to find their way along unfamiliar courses located between checkpoints, running or walking, all the while determining the best route to complete the set course in the fastest time, using quick decision making and navigation skills.
